LAKE COMO, ITALY - The Villa d'Este Concorso d'Eleganza may be synonymous with breathtaking classic automobiles, but this year's dedicated motorcycle concours at the nearby Villa Erba promises an equally compelling smorgasbord of aesthetic delights.

BMW Motorrad is celebrating their 90th anniversary at the two-wheeled event, and this modern interpretation of the BMW R90S, which first debuted in 1973, combines winning elements of both old school and modern BMW design.

Built by Roland Sands Design in collaboration with BMW, the bike transcends the of-the-moment caf? craze with its unexpected blend of retro touches like Daytona Orange sunburst paint and a clean, uncluttered silhouette. It's a winning combination in our book, one that begs the question: Would BMW consider building a production version for public consumption??
