- App Store updated within iOS 6: new search result layout, Genius recommendations turned on and more (video) The latest iOS 6 beta has a brand new App Store, featuring a brand new layout that uses swipable cards that lets you see more of each app right from the result (including screenshots, ratings, and an install button). - Facebook To Roll Out Email- and Phone Number-Based Ad Targeting Next Week Facebook is launching a new type of targeted ad next week, in which users will receive ads based not only on what pages they like, but what other businesses have their email address or phone number (say, if you'd signed up for their newsletter). - Grooveshark app yanked from Google Play yet again After a triumphant return to the Google Play Store this week, streaming music app Grooveshark has once again been pulled from the store. No public explanation has yet been made as to why. [CNET]
- It appears Google has quietly killed its weather API Google shut down its weather API this week, causing a number of apps that depend on it to break. If one of your weather apps isn't working, try a different weather source or try a different app that doesn't use Google's now defunct service. [TheNextWeb]
- 50GB free Dropbox service confirmed for Samsung Galaxy Note II and Galaxy Camera Dropbox is once again teaming up with an Android manufacturer, this time Samsung. For two years, owners of the new Galaxy Note II and Galaxy Camera will get 50GB of free space on Dropbox. [Engadget]
