Open to brand-new rowers in the 8th-10th grades, this is an excellent opportunity to learn a new sport, be part of an incredible team and compete successfully at local, regional, and national events.? Our highly experienced coaching staff trains our rowers in every boat class: singles, doubles, quads, fours, and eights, so they learn to be strong, versatile athletes skilled at rowing on their own and in boats with their teammates!
Novice rowers (beginners in their first year of rowing) learn to row together and compete against other novice teams from the Bay Area and the Southwest.
In the Fall, our top varsity boats will race at the Head of the Charles in Boston, MA and Newport Autumn Rowing Festival in Newport Beach, CA. All members of our novice squad will race several times through October and November at local regattas.? In the Spring, our top boats race to qualify, and compete strongly at Nationals.?
This is a great opportunity for experienced athletes looking for a fun and challenging new sport or students looking to try a competitive team for the first time. The emphasis is first on learning, physical conditioning, and teamwork and progresses to racing against other regional teams.
